Were the Brits still wearing those stupid dough-boy pie-tins during WWII? And their doctors run around carrying rifles? I think they are sending mixed messages to the Nazis.
@ Keith, I didn’t see a rifle in the hands of the poor doctor, but he was wearing the same colors except the black and white cross on his left arm, oh and the nice stereotypical doctor’s bag in his hand … Don’t fire, boys, until you see the M.D.’s on his bag!!
My question is why are the soldiers wearing the chemical symbol for mercury on their arms??
Never having read the issue, I’m assuming the “HG” stands for Home Guard - the “Dad’s Army” of TV fame - the last line of homeland defense made up of those not suitable for regular service (too old, too infirm etc.), and infamously under-equipped. Thus the Doctor’s odd medical bag is probably just that - his regular GP’s case. Stinkin’ Ratzis

Yes. At least until 1944.

Wasn’t the Red Cross established in WWI and well, was supposed to prevent this type of thing happening?
They have no identification that they are a medical crew.

They are wearing crosses on their arm band and equipment, though admittedly not red crosses.
