More Richie Rich Health Care

How, exactly, does one hear dollar signs? Maybe Richie left his iPod on and it happens to playing the beginning of “Money” from The Dark Side of the Moon. Of course, this comic was published well before MP3 players, Walkmen, and even Pink Floyd.
Maybe it’s a not-so-subtle indictment of the medical profession by the folks at Harvey Comics: the doctor is hearing “dollar signs” when he should be listening to his patient. But then again, the doctor is using a horribly out of date stethoscope — even for 1964, when the comic was published — so he probably needs all the money he can get, plus he seems to listening to the xiphoid process and not the heart, so he’s not a very good doctor.
Or it’s just another vaguely humorous money-related visual gag the Richie Rich comics are famous for, take your pick.

Pink Floyd were founded in 1964.

Sort of. The band that became Pink Floyd was founded in 1964 as “Sigma 6″ but didn’t start calling themselves Pink Floyd (technically “The Pink Floyd Sound”) until late 1966/early 1967.

Like Neil Young, the doctor appears to be “Searchin’ for a Heart of Gold…”

Perhaps the doctor is hearing a “cha-ching, cha-ching” noise that the artist is graphically translating into dollar signs. It seems to alternate from big dollar sign to smaller dollar sign. Could that be some sort of Richie Rich heart murmur?
Or perhaps he has a small transistor radio and it is playing Gimme Some Money by Spinal Tap, but although the band formed in 1964, Spinal Tap didn’t put out that single until 1965. Perhaps it was a broadcast of a live performance of the song on a radio variety show before they cut the single of it a year later?

PS Thanks to Wikipedia for date information on Spinal Tap, their single Gimme Some Money and transistor radios.

Sorry for being off-topic but I have a House update for the regular readers here.
The schedule for the final three remaining episodes has been released by FOX. The next new episode will be Tuesday 1/29 (Ep. 410 “It’s a Wonderful Lie”). The Super Bowl special episode will be Ep. 411 “Frozen” (2/3 at 10 PM ET, or immediately following the conclusion of overtime). Then we get the final pre-strike episode the following Tuesday at its normal time on 2/5 (Ep. 412, Title not released). After that it’s off to hiatus-land.
Hope everyone here has been doing well. ;)

Richie’s face always that healthy, youthful glow, but why are his hands and legs that color? Is he wearing gloves and matching leggings? And if so, why THAT color?

Perhaps he was visiting his hillbilly relatives (who live in a log mansion) again, and acquired a farmer’s tan?
