New Comic Day BINGO
August 8th, 2007

Grab your day’s stash of comics and see how long it takes you to score a Bingo. Or better yet, compete against a friend (or co-worker) and whoever gets Bingo first wins a beer (or two or three).
Note: The same comic — even the same panel — can count for multiple squares. For example, if it’s a panel featuring Soranik Natu showing both breasts and butt while flighting a zombie, that’s worth four squares (”anatomically impossible position”, “gratuitous cleavage”, “Green Lantern’s butt”, and “facial tattoos”).
A larger version of the bingo board suitable for printing can be found here.

Fabulous!(!!!) I am so getting a drinking game going on this. Kudos for creating it.
Does the inclusion of ‘Green Lanern’s Butt’ mean that Hal Jordan is the Kevin Costner of the DC Universe?

Well, I must admit that the thought of a Green Lantern behind DOES fill me with delight. Your bingo card is delightful.

Well, I only got six comics this week:
JLA Classfied #41 - End of “Kid Amazo” Arc
BPRD: Killing Ground #1 - call it an ongoing laready!
Dynamo 5 #6 - penultimate arc
Annihilation: Conquest: Wraith #2 - whew!
Batman #667 - grim and gritty and gag
Incredible Hulk #109 - the other half of WWH #3
So this might be tough. I think I have:
O O X O X
X O X O X
X X F O O
O X O O X
X X X X O
Anyone got better?
(One week either way - BPRDs “Last” issue, or Rocket Racoon in Starlord, and I would have had it! Isn’t that always the way?)

I always used to get confused by these Bingo cards on people’s blogs because I didn’t realise until today - when I actually bothered to do some research (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bingo) - that there are in fact differing British and American versions of the game. D’oh! I’d stupidly always been trying to reconcile these cards with what I knew of the British version.
Also, wouldn’t your example count for at least five squares, as Soranik is fighting a zombie (square C2)? And (because I can see myself genuinely playing this in the future and actually getting concerned over the rules) do one-shots count as both first and last issues?

If you’re in need of the ‘anatomically impossible position’ square, may I suggest any comic drawn by Carmine Infantino?

Don’t you mean FIVE squares, as your description includes a zombie?

Just out of curiosity, what software did you use to make the bingo board graphic? I’ve been working on something similar in Appleworks and am not completely satisfied.

It’s shit like this that makes you a doctor and the rest of us peasants.

Black Adam #1 fills pretty much half of that thing on its own.

Jayunderscorezero and Laura,
You’re right, it should be 5 squares. (And Jay, a “one-shot” counts only as a one-shot. A first or last issue requires a regular series or miniseries.)
Evan,
I used Macromedia Fireworks (which I think is now owned by Adobe)
