Your Weekend Moment of Psychic Nosebleed Zen: The Great Machine
June 23rd, 2007

Today’s example of a psychic nosebleed comes from Mitchell Hundred, star of the comic Ex Machina. In this case, it occurs back when he was still acting as the super-hero the Great Machine and before he became mayor of New York. He’s “maxed out” his powers by controlling an entire jumbo jet.
This scene, from the recent Ex Machine #29 (words by Vaughan, pencils by Harris), was suggested by the Invincible Super Chris.

God, with that coloring, it doesn’t look like a nosebleed so much as it looks like he was a little sloppy drinking his orange juice.

I wonder if the cut-out for his nose in his gimp-mask serves only to provide an exit for psychic nosebleeds.
I also agree that it look like OJ. Or maybe it’s the Gatorade in him getting out of him!

FF 2 SPOILERS (sort of)
When Sue got the nose bleed, my immediate thought was “I wonder if Scott will put this on “Psychic Nosebleed Zen”? Thank you for not disappointing.

I thought of you when I read this comic, but after some short consideration I decided it wasn’t a psychic nosebleed at all but some manifestation of how fast he was flying (I imagine even with his helmet protection he must be somewhere over 100 miles an hour, maybe as much as 400 - 500 mph. It certainly is a dramatic situation, and he does express difficulty in controlling the plane but I feel like he has done ‘more powerful’ machine control in previous issues.
I think its just chapped lips.
