Hi everyone. This is Scott’s wife and I am posting on his behalf. For the next few days Polite Dissent will not be updated. Scott is in the hospital after having a minor myocardial infarction (heart attack). He is doing fine now and I’m sure he will give you all the details when he can.

Best wishes for a speedy and good recovery. No matter what, keep your perspective. A life without is not always worth the extra years on your life. Look at the comments about the CR diet.

Make a complete recovery.
I can only wonder if being caught in a nexus between:
- a reality altering Superboy punch
and
- 52 new Earths
could have saved Scott from such a state, by thrusting him into a comic-book universe.
Then, possibly, Nate Summers would have been hanging around with Scott… and could have had a psychic premonition, and Scott would have noticed the tell-tale nosebleed, possibly giving him enough time to either:
- take some Venox or Denyitol or at least some UFOpium.
or
- have Dr. Strange perform an astral-body exploratory to help stave off the attack.
Of course, if he WERE to be in a comic book hospital, the IV would be up his nose and there might be monitors taped to his nethers*.
Of course, to make matters worse, his surgeon could have been:
- Dr. Bong
- Dr. Doom
or
- Dr. Light**.
*not saying Scott wouldn’t like that. I honestly don’t know. Nor do I judge.
** MUCH MORE to worry about than monitors down there.
Anyway…
