Continuing my catalogue of nosebleeds resulting from the use of psychic powers. This weekend, I’m taking a look at Maxwell Lord, back from when he was involved with the Justice League International. In addition to yesterday’s look at Max, he was also featured in one of my original posts on “telepathic” nosebleeds from little over a year ago.

    Has the psychic powers –> nosebleed thing ever been traced to its source? The earliest use of it I personally know of is the dad in Stephen King’s Firestarter. (I’m pretty sure his nose bled, anyway.)

    I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’ve seen some reference to Firestarter and also some to the movie Scanners as the origin. I’m also wondering when it first showed up in comic books.
